Jail Mission Statement

The Worth County Jail, as a unit of the Office of the Sheriff, supports and is supported by the mission of the Department. The Jail is part of the Community. The Community is part of the Jail. The Correction staff is committed to meet the standards of the community in a combined effort to promote safety and security. Our values include respect, responsibility, honesty and caring for others and ourselves.

Writing to an Inmate

You can send an inmate letters at:

Please note "In care of [inmate's name>" on all letters that are sent to the Worth County Jail.

Pay Room and Board

The inmate will be notified of the total amount of room and board cost at the time of conviction or release. After the inmate has been notified of the total amount due, payment arrangements can be made. 

The inmate is responsible for setting up a payment plan with the jail administrator or civil clerk if the full payment for room and board can not be made in full. 

If full payment can be made, the payment can be brought in to the Sheriff's office or be mailed to:

Send an Inmate Money

You can send an inmate money by:

  • Mailing a money order to the jail
  • Bringing in cash or money order to the jail and requesting that the money be put on to the inmate's books

No personal checks will be accepted.

Worth County Jail Rules Regarding Detainee Visitation

  • Visitation Hours
    • Tuesday | 9 - 11 a.m.
    • Wednesday | 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
    • Saturday | 2 - 6 p.m.
  • No more than two visitors are allowed at any one time. A valid ID is required. 
  • Children under the age of 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Visitation is allowed three times each week per person.
  • Each visit is limited to 30 minutes. This may be reduced so all visitors have a chance to visit. 
  • Visitors may bring the following items to the detainee:
    • Books/magazines (subject to jail officer's discretion)
    • Stamps, envelopes, and/or writing material
    • Money
  • All visitors are subject to search of person or belongings.
  • Visitation may be denied to any and all when control or security is endangered.
  • For security reasons, your conversation may be recorded with the exception of the clergy or lawyer confidentiality.
  • You are required to advise the jailer on duty of any problems or suicidal thoughts the inmate advises you of.
