Located in north-central Iowa, Worth was established in 1851 and named for Major General William Jenkins Worth, an officer in the Seminole War and the Mexican-American War. The Courthouse, located in Northwood, was completed in 1893 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. The County is home to seven communities and 7,443 residents.
The County is administered by a three-member Board of Supervisors who are elected for four-year terms. Other elected officials include the Attorney, Auditor, Recorder, Sheriff, and Treasurer.
