Nelson Accident

On January 14, 2019 at approximately 1500 hrs the Worth County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call to advise that a subject was driving through yards and had hit a car parked at A&I and Northwood Kensett Schools Bus Barn. A Worth County Deputy located the vehicle involved in the incident stopped at the portable stop sign on 8th St N and 2nd Ave. Upon making contact with the driver of the pickup who was identified as Lee Nelson of Northwood. Northwood Fire and Rescue was called to the scene and Nelson was transported to the hospital by Mason City Fire. Upon further investigation it was found that Nelson had stuck a parked car in Villa Woods parking lot, a shrub on that property, the mailbox at Northwood Dental Association, and the vehicle in the parking lot of A&I.

This incident remains under investigation.
