On 11/24/17 at 1:02pm the Worth County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 of a motorcycle accident north of Northwood on 480th St near Highway 65. The motorcycle was traveling east on 480th St. The driver of the motorcycle lost control going around a curve and went into the ditch. According to witnesses the motorcycle went end over end 3-4 times before coming to rest. The driver of the motorcycle was transported by Mercy Airmed to Mercy in Mason City with unknown injuries. The incident is still under investigation by the Worth County Sheriff’s Office. The Worth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Northwood Fire Department/Rescue, Mason City Fire Department and Mercy Airmed.

A letter to inform the public of the intent by the Zoning Commission to recommend that the County Board of Supervisors extend the current Zoning Ordinance to apply to the unincorporated areas of all the townships in the county, versus just the three townships currently under zoning (Hartland, Brookfield, and Danville).
