posted on 8/23/18

On 08/23/2018 at approximately 0219 hours a Deputy with the Worth County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Venture for nearly striking him while he was conducting another stop and for stopping in the middle of the roadway. Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle was being driven on the rim of the front passenger side tire and the vehicle was likely recently in the ditch as there was grass on and stuck in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Daniel Contreras Garcia of Titonka, was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated, Open Container, No Insurance, Reckless Driving, Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, and Unsafe Stopping. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
