Recently we have received a large amount of fireworks questions so with saying that I am going to try and summarize what is currently in place in Worth County. Sales and setting off fireworks can be done each year from June 1st to July 8th during the hours of 9 am to 10 pm the exceptions on hours apply to the Saturday and Sunday before and after the fourth of July and as well as the fourth [if not past the 8th> than the hours are 9 am to 11 pm. Sales and setting off fireworks can be done each year from December 10th through January 3rd each year with the times of 9 am to 10 pm exceptions on times are for December 31st 9 am to 1230 am on January first, and the Saturday and Sunday before and after December 31st the times will be 9 am to 10 pm. The law requires the purchaser to be at least 18 years old of fireworks. Fireworks can only be set off on your own personal property or someone else’s personal property with the owner’s permission. Fireworks cannot be set off on public property or state, county or city parks. If a burn ban is in place by the State Fire Marshalls Office the discharge of fireworks is also banned. The county and or City can set their own ordinances or resolutions reference fireworks.
