Assault Release

In reference to the alleged assault in Worth County yesterday afternoon on Wheelerwood Rd south of the Diamond Jo Casino, the victim has recanted her story. There is no active threat to the citizens of Worth County. We would still urge citizens to call your local Sheriff’s Office if you find a stranded motorist. There is still an active investigation at this time. The Worth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Department of Criminal Investigations and Iowa State Patrol.
